Italian Sausage Melt

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 24 ounces pasta sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 hoagie rolls, split

Recipe

  • 1 remove casings from sausage. crumble and brown in a large skillet. drain and set aside.
  • 2 sautee onion in same skillet. add tomato pasta sauce, garlic powder, italian seasoning, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. add sausage. cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  • 3 place split hoagie rolls each on a plate. spoon sausage-tomato mixture over roll halves. sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. place under hot broiler until cheese melts (approximately 1 minutes).
  • 4 enjoy!
