Indian Chick Peas

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups canned chick-peas
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups dried onions, reconstituted and drained
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup diced tomato
  • 1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth

Recipe

  • 1 drain garbanzo beans, reserving their liquid.
  • 2 in a frying pan, heat the butter and sauté until lightly golden.
  • 3 add the seasonings and tomatoes and cook 10 minutes longer.
  • 4 combine tomatoes and beans in saucepan. add chicken broth and 1 cup of reserved liquid to cover.
  • 5 cover and simmer 20 minutes. serve hot.
