Grandma's Chicken

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (4 lb) chicken, cut up
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon season-all salt
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup crisco cooking oil

Recipe

  • 1 combine seasonings in flour; dredge chicken pieces to coat; fry in hot oil until browned.
  • 2 blend remaining flour with water; pour over chicken; cover and simmer on low 45 minutes until meat is almost falling off bone and gravy is thickened. make sure to stir gently so gravy doesn't stick.
