Healthy Beef And Mac

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 cups almond milk (or your favorite milk)
  • 1 1/2 cups macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot (or corn starch)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon evaporated cane juice (or sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet brown the meat with the onion, bell pepper and celery.
  • 2 drain off the fat.
  • 3 add hot water and milk to the meat in the skillet.
  • 4 mix the seasoning in a ziploc bag.
  • 5 add the macaroni to the skillet.
  • 6 add the seasonings to the skillet.
  • 7 bring to a boil, cover and simmer on low for 12 - 20 minutes, until the macaroni is tender.
  • 8 when the noodles are tender, add the cheese, stir and cover for a minute or two until the cheese is melted.
  • 9 remove from heat and let stand until it is to the sauciness/thickness you prefer.
