Fantastic Italian Breadsticks

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (70-80 degrees)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons italian spices
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 cups bread flour

Recipe

  • 1 ferment water, salt, sugar, & yeast for 20 - 30 minutes.
  • 2 then add garlic powder, & italian seasonings.
  • 3 in large bowl put in flour and make a well in it.
  • 4 add melted butter, & liquid mixture.
  • 5 mix till right consistency, adding in more flour if needed.
  • 6 mold into ball.
  • 7 oil bowl and ball; cover with wet towel.
  • 8 place in warm oven 30 - 40 minutes.
  • 9 turn dough onto floured surface.
  • 10 divide ball in half.
  • 11 cut each portion into 8 pieces.
  • 12 roll each piece into a 4-6-inch rope.
  • 13 place 2 inches apart on baking sheet in warm oven for 20 minutes.
  • 14 bake at 350°f for 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown.
  • 15 brush with melted butter and sprinkle with grated cheese.
