Italian Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 lbs 88% lean ground beef
- 5/8 lb ground turkey
- 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1/3 cup italian breadcrumbs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (such as tapatio or sriracha)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon minced dried onion
- 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
- 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 2 eggs, beaten
- olive oil, for browning
- 2 (26 ounce) jars marinara sauce
Recipe
- 1 mix all dry ingredients in a small bowl.
- 2 in a medium sized bowl, combine both ground meats until well-mixed.
- 3 add in eggs, milk, worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce and mix well.
- 4 add all dry ingredients to meat mixture and mix well.
- 5 meanwhile, heat a saucepan on medium-high heat with about a teaspoon of olive oil.
- 6 heat up marinara sauce in a separate large pot, such as a 5-quart dutch oven.
- 7 form meat mixture into golf-ball sized balls and place gently into hot saucepan, watching carefully so as to only brown the outside.
- 8 gently drop the browned meatballs into the simmering marinara sauce, cover and turn heat down to medium-low (about 2 or 3).
- 9 let simmer for 30-60 minutes.
