Italian Spinach Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
  • 1 lb ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 9" unbaked pie shell

Recipe

  • 1 heat butter in skillet and saute onion until tender.
  • 2 drain spinach well in a sieve and press with a spoon to remove all the liquid.
  • 3 combine spinach, onions, ricotta, parmesan cheese, eggs and seasonings and mix well.
  • 4 pour into pie shell and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
