Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup sweet creamy butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup sweet creamy butter, melted
- 1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/8 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/16 teaspoon rubbed sage
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 450 degrees.
- 2 in a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- 3 cut in butter until crumbly. add milk; stir just until moistened.
- 4 turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 10 times.
- 5 pat dough into 9" round shape.
- 6 in a small bowl stir together melted butter and seasonings.
- 7 pour 1/2 butter mixture into 9" round cake pan.
- 8 place dough in pan; pour remaining butter mixture over dough.
- 9 bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown.
- 10 remove from pan; cut into 12 wedges. serve warm.
