Italian Pan Biscuit

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup sweet creamy butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sweet creamy butter, melted
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/16 teaspoon rubbed sage

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • 2 in a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  • 3 cut in butter until crumbly. add milk; stir just until moistened.
  • 4 turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 10 times.
  • 5 pat dough into 9" round shape.
  • 6 in a small bowl stir together melted butter and seasonings.
  • 7 pour 1/2 butter mixture into 9" round cake pan.
  • 8 place dough in pan; pour remaining butter mixture over dough.
  • 9 bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • 10 remove from pan; cut into 12 wedges. serve warm.
