Honeymoon Chicken And Biscuits

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, divided
  • 10 1/2 ounces chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry or 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup flour, divided
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped chicken breasts, cooked
  • 10 ounces frozen vegetables
  • 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup nonfat milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Recipe

  • 1 cook onion in 2 tb butter in a skillet over medium heat, about 3 minutes. stir togather broth, sherry or water, 1/4 cup flour and seasonings and add to skillet. cook 3 minutes or until thickened. stir in chicken and vegetables. pour into lightly grease 2 quart baking dish. combine remaining 3/4 cup flour, oats and b.powder. cut in remaind butter until crumbly. stir in milk, egg and syrup until moistened. drop by 1/4 cupfuls onto chicken mixture. bake @ 425 about 30 minutes. enjoy!
