Italian "herbesan" Bread

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast (or 1 packet)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups flour, and enough more to knead into dough

Recipe

  • 1 mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in large mixing bowl.
  • 2 let stand for 15 minutes.
  • 3 mince garlic.
  • 4 saute garlic in olive oil, let cool.
  • 5 when garlic/oil is cooled, add to yeast mixture.
  • 6 add salt, italian seasoning and parmesan cheese and mix well.
  • 7 add 3 cups flour and mix.
  • 8 knead enough flour into mix to make dough consistency.
  • 9 cover baking stone lightly in cornmeal or grease a loaf pan.
  • 10 form a ball and place on stone, or form a loaf and place in loaf pan.
  • 11 spray saran wrap with cooking spray and cover dough. cover with a hand towel.
  • 12 let dough rise until doubled in size (1 to 1-1/2 hours).
  • 13 uncover and bake 25-30 minutes at 375°f.
