Italian Meatball Subs

Total Time: 4 hrs 45 mins Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb bulk lamb sausage
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Recipe

  • 1 make meatballs by combining eggs, and milk, add breadcrumbs, cheese and seasoning then add the meats.
  • 2 mixwell, and shape into 1 inch balls, broil or saute until brown, and put into slow cooker.
  • 3 combine sauce ingredients, and pour over meatballs.
  • 4 cover, and cook 4-6 hours.
  • 5 serve on rolls with creamy red potatoes, salad, or dessert.
