Home Made Chili

Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef, browned
- 1 lb lean ground turkey, browned
- 2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
- 1 (10 ounce) bag frozen onions
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 (1 1/4 ounce) packages low-sodium chili seasoning mix
Recipe
- 1 place cooked meat in a colander and rinse off the fat with very hot tap water.
- 2 in one tablespoon of hot oil, cook frozen onions until transparent, or browned if you prefer.
- 3 in the slow cooker, place the ground beef, onions, tomatoes, and chili seasoning.
- 4 stir well and cook on low for at least 4 hours.
- 5 taste, add salt or hot sauce, etc to taste.
- 6 add the beans, cook about 30 additional minutes.
- 7 serve with saltines or cornbread.
